Key Findings
Kids who supplemented with vitamin D had 17% fewer sick days due to acute respiratory tract infections ✅
They also showed a 47% reduction in days with respiratory tract infections which included fever symptoms 🤧
Baseline vitamin D levels were 79.8 nmol/L across both groups 🩸
📈 Supplementation significantly increased in the vitamin D group (+9.4 nmol/L)
📉 Whereas the placebo group significantly dropped vitamin D levels (-32.7 nmol/L)
Conclusion
Vitamin D supplementation should be prioritised during winter at northern latitudes to most age groups 💊
